HipHop – Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, Don’t Stop!

The current issue of the Mixed Tape Music Magazine presents us with breaking beats and an exclusive trip into the nearly 30 years of HipHop history.

And again, after eight weeks the new edition of the download compilation Mixed Tape 23 is available for free download.

This month’s Mixed Tape Music Magazine’s motto is „HipHop Don’t Stop“.

In this issue Mercedes-Benz presents artists like Masta Ace amongst others who roams the streets of Brooklyn along with Marco Polo while giving credits to the good ol’ times of HipHop. In Tibetan „Shenpen Senge“ is the „lion who serves others“. For lovers of music the correspondent project from Vienna is far more than serving, especially for lovers of modern musical fusions. Shenpen Senge describe their music as „Oriental Bedroom Funk Lounge Pop“ and overall a „tender commitment to the beauty of life“. And that’s exactly what you hear in their soul-funk tune „Inside Out“.

The eventful career of singer-songwriter Nell Evans leads her from the Caribbean island Martinique to Paris to London. And from HipHop to Soul. Her tuneful love songs though rather occur to her at home. More specifically: In the shower or while doing the dishes.

„It’s about the little games in life that everyone’s playing at now and then – until you come to realize that you can get by without them.“ That’s how Motz herself explains her song „A Game That“. The one-woman-act from Kärnten lives in Vienna and enthuses her fans with her folk-pop songs. No big surprise there.

Where do Tori Amos, the Roots and Alicia Keys meet? If at all, they meet in the music of Chris O’Gorman. Being only 24 years old this Irish-Italian songwriter from London has already experienced quite a lot – from „the Office“-like jobs to Kafka-esque subway-adventures. Accompanied by accoustic guitar he now sings about it, for example in „Friend With Benefits“.

Keyboard player Richard Jacob and three to four of his best friends are „Attic Trax“. The Southampton project stands for „Chill out with attitude“. This means: The song has got to be right, the vibe must set on fire and inspire. A good example is the not so lazy song „Lazy“.

Für die Tibeter ist „Shenpen Senge“ der „Löwe, der anderen nützt“. Für Musikfreunde ist das gleichnamige Projekt aus Wien mehr als nützlich, vor allem für Freunde moderner Musikverschmelzungen. Als „Oriental Bedroom Funk Lounge Pop“ bezeichnen Shenpen Senge ihre Musik, und übergreifender noch als „ein zärtliches Bekenntnis an die Schönheit des Lebens“. Das hört man, auch in ihrem Soul-Funk-Tune „Inside Out“.
